Christmas Party Outfit

Hey y'all,

Merry Christmasssss eep! I hope everyone has had a lovely day, spent it in good company, eaten lots of yummy food and got lots of awesome presents!

It was pretty low key today at my house. I just spent it with my immediate family, eating an insane amount of delicious food, exchanging presents and watching some really disappointingly unChristmassy TV!
Boxing day in our house is the day when all the extended family come around though, bringing mayhem and chaos with them. Its so nice to have everyone altogether every once in a while though, and it's always been tradition in my family to have the huge full on Christmas dinner both days which I LOVE!
I'll add a few photos of both days in a little while :)

Last week was full of Christmas parties and work dos so I got lots of opportunities to wear some of the Motel pieces I picked up from the Sample Sale. I just wanted to share a particularly Christmassy one I wore to one of my works' Christmas party's last Thursday! The whole outfit was mostly red and black which I've been rocking a lot this December and the dress is glittery in places too which makes it even more perfect for this time of year. I styled it pretty simply with some black tights, red ankle socks and gorgeous black wedges which I bought recently. I also added some tacky Christmas gloves and Santa hat - gettin' in the spirit an' all! ;)

Hope you like the look, the white furry coat is also from Motel Rocks from quite a few seasons back and I'm still so in love with it. It's surprisingly light and I just throw it over anything and it keeps me cosy as!

Furry Coat: Motel Rocks
Dress: Motel Rocks
Gloves: Ann Summers
Ankle Socks: Topshop
Wedges: New Look
So what did Santa bring you all this year?

I'm planning to share a few of the lovely presents I got with you all over the next few days so keep your eyes peeled for them!

But for now, enjoy those leftovers and if you've got more days off work enjoy them! I'm going to stuff myself some more tomorrow yay!

Christmas love,

Jx

Working the Motel Rocks Sample Sale!

Heyoo,

So this is my first December post I know, but with good reason as it's been a pretty busy month so far. Apart from being super giddy at the prospect that Christmas is a matter of weeks away (eeep), and squeezing in many a shopping spree where my intention is to buy presents for others yet I mostly leave with more goodies for myself, last week I had the pleasure of working at Motel Rocks' Showroom in Great Portland Street, London for their seasonal Sample Sale. This was a two day event held to sell some of the previous season's stock and also some unique pieces that never actually made it to be reproduced.
I've been to lots of their sample sales in the past as a customer and they've always gone down a treat with fashionistas wanting to snap up a bargain, and since I've been a fan of Motel for years it wasn't a hard decision when I was asked if I wanted to work both days of the sale, as well as the days before and after to help set up and clear up.
Every sample sale they hold has crazy low prices and deals: a choice of three separates (e.g. a skirt, a top and a pair of shorts) for £15, two dresses, jeans or playsuits (or a combination) for £20, and really low prices on their knitwear, leather jackets and coats, so it's well worth the trip to London! It's such a great atmosphere as well, and so lovely to get talking to lots of girls who share a similar interest and love of fashion.

For all the hours I worked I also got a certain amount of clothes I could pick out and take home, which was the super juicy cherry on top! I walked away with about 5 bags in total (I worked a lot of hours), spilling over with super pretty clothes having spent ages trying them all on and debating what ones I preferred back at the showroom, and I can't wait to share some of them in a later post!

For now, here are a few snaps of the day and a sneaky peek at some of the pieces I took home with me! :) Jx

Wedding fever

Having got completely addicted to Pinterest and Polyvore recently I've been discovering the most beautiful creations, ideas and pictures - many of which are wedding related, and since I'm completely in love with anything wedding-y means I am in total heaven. I can happily sit on either site for hours re-pinning inspirations or creating sets for whatever I feel like at the time.

Wedding fever

I used a few of my favourite pins to create a couple of sets on Polyvore - including some beautiful ideas and moments for a wedding day - and below is my absolute favourite wedding dress - a creation by Essence of Australia - and an engagement ring I have fallen head over heels for! Want - Need - Love!

Motel Festival Style

Heyzurss,

So the latest Motel Street Team task was to create a Polyvore of my 'Festival Style'.

Honestly, when I first read the task description, I sort of screwed my face up at the Polyvore part as I had never heard of it before at all and had absolutely no idea what it was, but after a quick Google search and a spot of perusing on their site, I was a little wiser and totally up for giving it a go!

In a nutshell, Polyvore is an online fashion community which allows you to discover fellow users' styles and share your own trends worldwide. You can create 'sets' or 'collections' by mixing and matching current products from your favourite brands, which you can then go on to share through your own blog, Twitter or Facebook. It had genuinely never crossed my mind that something like this might exist, but once I discovered what it could actually do I was intrigued and eager to create my first Polyvore masterpiece (heh)! I mean hell, I create hundreds of styles and outfits in my head on a daily basis, so why not get a few down on paper!

I chose to create two outfits from Motel and teamed them with some fabulous Rock 'N Rose jewellery, a statement pair of Jeffery Campbell boots and some sparkly Models Own nail varnish.

The first gorgeous garm is the Motel Bryony Dip Hem Strappy Dress in Coral. The fishtail hem is one of my favourite styles at the moment, so simple yet perfectly elegant! This is a fabulous summery dress and the colour is totally gorgeous too.

The crop top is the Motel Ronnie Sheer Lace Crop Top in Pastel Pink. Every wardrobe deserves a crop top this summer and this one is definitely a winner! I especially love the lace texture and the fitted cut. I teamed this with the Motel Jodie Cropped Skinny Jeans in Pink Palm Leaf Print. The high waist and skinny fit make them ever so flattering to wear, and the tropical print teamed with the salmon pink base colour make them fresh and totally eye catching!

To accessorise these looks I used products from the blooming awesome Rock 'N Rose. Firstly, the Nora Oversized Floral Crown was a total must for me, as the colours just tied in perfectly and it just completes any festival look. It's a total statement piece! Plus, if this one doesn't quite take your fancy, they spoil you with a choice of nine crowns on their website!
I then added the simply gorgeous Peace Sign Ring and two Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe vintage necklaces from their Paris is for Lovers collection, both of which frame each famous parisian monument in a vintage brass crown.

The Jeffery Campbell Litas in Black Distressed Leather were another total must for me, they are such a statement boot and they come in every colour imaginable, as well as a selection of fab prints too!

Finally, I picked the Pastel Pink Ice Cream Sundae nail polish along with the Ibiza Miz Hed Kandi to create a layer of sparkles over the top. I own soo many Models Own polishes and they are all completely amazing. I love the candy colours of the Ice Cream Sundae collection and the glittermania of the Ibiza Mix is a total must for any nail polish collection!

All in all, I'm pretty happy with the way my first attempt turned out! And I'd deffo recommend anyone who hasn't already to check out Polyvore and have a go at creating some styles yourself!

And remember girlies, use the code " jaynaugustina " at the Motel Rocks checkout to get an amazzzing 20% off your order! You could even buy one of the pieces I've mentioned here!

Lots of love,

J x
